The William Paterson University Music After School (MAS) Program is a dual-mentorship music education program that provides music enrichment for children from the Paterson Public Schools and professional opportunities for the university’s music students. A partnership between the Music Department at William Paterson University and the Paterson Public Schools Department of Fine and Performing Arts, MAS exemplifies the WPU Music Department’s commitment to professionalism in performance, teaching, scholarship and creative activity, and community service. Project Goal: Enrich instrumental music achievement and school success for PPS instrumental music students grades 4-8. Project Outcomes: For PPS Instrumental Music program for students in grades 4-8 Increase instrumental music achievement Provide a positive activity for PPS students during after-school hours.
