Steps to Apply Now! First: Check out our Jazz/Classical Performance Audition Requirements! Second: Apply to William Paterson University! Once you apply you will receive an email from William Paterson Undergraduate Admissions with a student ID# and instructions for completing the Music Department application. Third: Complete a Music Department application on My Application Status Page. Submit your audio-recorded jazz application. Select the mode of performance for your classical audition (live or recorded). For live audition, select an audition date. For recorded audition, upload a recording. Upload an essay, approximately 300 words, describing your personal, artistic, and career goals (Word or PDF only). Provide two names and email addresses for references, one of which must be a music educator or studio teacher. Complete our online theory test. Deadlines: Applications must be received by January 1 for full consideration for institutional scholarships. February 1 is the deadline for submitting Jazz Program applications for Fall matriculation (including all supplementary materials). Only audio recordings are accepted. April 1 is the deadline for submitting Classical Program applications for Fall matriculation. November 1 is the deadline for submitting Jazz and Classical Program applications for Spring matriculation (including all supplementary materials). Spring matriculation is only available for bass, piano and brass instruments. International Students: Please go to the website for International Admissions for additional requirements.
