Steps to Apply Now! First: Check out our Jazz Audition Requirements! Note that only audio recordings are allowed for jazz auditions. Second: Apply to William Paterson University! Once you apply you will receive an email from William Paterson Undergraduate Admissions with a student ID# (855 number) and instructions for completing the Music Department application. Third: Complete a Music Department application on My Application Status Page. Upload your recorded jazz audio audition. Upload an essay, approximately 300 words, describing your personal, artistic, and career goals (Word or PDF only). Provide two names and email addresses for references, one of which must be a music educator or studio teacher. Complete our online theory placement test. Deadlines: Applications must be received by January 1st for full consideration for institutional scholarships. February 1st is the deadline for submitting Jazz Program applications for Fall matriculation (including all supplementary materials). Only audio recordings are accepted. November 1st is the deadline for submitting Jazz Program applications for Spring matriculation (including all supplementary materials). Spring matriculation is only available for bass, piano and brass instruments. International Students: Please go to the website for International Admissions for additional requirements.
