Open to all W.P.U. students, and highly recommended for Communication majors in the Film Concentration, the Student Film Association is a great opportunity to learn more about filmmaking outside the classroom. The Student Film Association allows students to share filmmaking resources by learning to work in crews and to support each other's film projects. The S.F.A. is also active in organizing related events such as special film screenings, and in providing access to national and international film festivals and resources. The S.F.A. holds an annual Student Film Festival and welcomes your films and your participation in this event. For the past twelve years the Student Film Festival has been the big event at the end of the Spring semester. Please consult the submission form and guidelines for further information. The competitive section determines which films will later be submitted to national festivals and competitions, and to other national and international exhibition opportunities. In addition to the Student Film Festival, the Student Film Association holds other events such as script reading meetings, editing meetings and the Hourglass Film Challenge. SFA screenings and events take place in the Martini Conference room, Hobart Hall. For festival submission forms and guidelines, email the Student Film Association. Advisor: Prof. Chriss Williams
