Members of the campus community are invited to wear orange and cheer on the WP Pioneer Football Team when they square off against Montclair State University at historic Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. and kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
Tickets for WP students are $5 with a student ID, and include a WP hat, rally towel, and a bag for the game. The student fan bus leaves at 11 a.m. from the Ben Shahn Circle. Students can sign up in Student Center 116 until Friday, October 25. All students who attend will be entered in a drawing to win the following prizes: Cozy WP swag basket, Vlogging kit, 31-inch Amazon Fire TV, Nintendo Switch Lite, Kindle Paperwhite, Beats headphones, and Apple Air Pods.
Tickets for WP faculty, staff, alumni and members of the community are $10. There are no advance sales and tickets are cash only. Alumni who register at the event will receive a WP hat and a rally towel. Parking is available in the Hinchliffe deck at 1 Jasper Street, Paterson, for $7, credit card only. Concessions will be available at the stadium; concessions are cashless. Please note the stadium’s clear bag policy.
Hinchliffe Stadium, opened in 1932, is one of the country's most historic sports venues. One of the last remaining Negro League stadiums in the country, it has served as the home field for the New York Black Yankees, New York Cubans, and the Newark Eagles. During its history, the venue has also hosted football games, car races, concerts, and boxing matches. Hinchliffe Stadium currently hosts the New Jersey Jackals of the Frontier League and underwent a multi-year, multi-million-dollar restoration to officially reopen in 2023.
