Gaopeng Pan is a well-known Chinese landscape painter, a Class-A National Artist and member of the Chinese Artists Association. His received the Golden Award at The Grand Jiangsu Landscape Paintings Exhibition, and his works have been collected by Jiangsu Art Museum, Zhongnanhai and National Art Museum of China.

Gaopeng Pan's landscape paintings reflect the magnificent and boundless mental images, featuring mountains and rivers in China. Rather than just rendering the specific mountains and rivers in the northern areas of China, he paints a fusion of worship and representation of natural scenes, with imagination and creation of nature by his spiritual mind. In painting the thousands of mountain peaks as stacked ink on paper, he has not only shown a personal vision of a desolate and boundless primitive world where human beings have never set foot, but has also presented a description of a psychological state where one constantly feels lonely, cold and mystical in a highly prosperous postmodern society. It is only from this point of view that his mysterious and eccentric landscape paintings can be viewed as a spiritual-psychological symbol that reveals the current living circumstances of human beings.
