Use of Other Libraries

The David and Lorraine Cheng Library participates in several reciprocal borrowing programs. Members of the WPUNJ community are responsible for complying with the lending library's borrowing policies (loan periods, fines and fees, recalls, etc.). Please be advised that not all libraries are accessible by the public, and you are encouraged to visit their websites or contact them prior to visiting.

NEW!

The Cheng Library recently entered into a partnership with the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Rowan University, Stockton University and The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), to provide users with access to a shared catalog of resources. This allows WPUNJ faculty, staff, and students to borrow directly from these academic libraries using their WPUNJ ID card. Requests for materials can also be made through the Cheng Library catalog.

PALS Plus

WPUNJ faculty, staff, and students may borrow from the following public libraries: Bloomingdale, Caldwell, Cedar Grove, Clifton, Haledon, Little Falls, North Haledon, Orange, Passaic, Paterson, Pompton Lakes, Ringwood, Totowa, Wanaque, Wayne, West Milford, or West Paterson. Bring your WPUNJ ID card and a second form of identification to register at the public library.

VALE Reciprocal Borrowing

WPU is a member of the VALE consortium, which provides borrowing privileges at a number of other academic libraries throughout New Jersey.

Prior going to another VALE library, you are strongly encouraged to contact them for details about borrowing at that VALE institution. You must also visit the Cheng Library Lending Services desk to obtain a signed VALE Reciprocal Borrowing application form. A signed application form and a valid, barcoded WPUNJ ID are required to register at VALE libraries. Borrowing privileges and/or a guest borrowing card are for one academic year and expire June 30th.
