When can I submit my institutional unemployment application and unemployment tuition waiver?
Winter 2009 Application Submission Dates: December 1, 2009 - December 15, 2009
Spring 2010 Application Submission Dates: January 4, 2010- January 15, 2010
What are the tuition wavier registration dates?
Winter 2009: December 16, 2009 until 4:00 pm. Email must be sent by 4:00 pm to darbyk@wpunj.edu stating you are register for the winter session. Spring 2010 Registration: January 20, 2010

What are the rules for registration?

Communication with students will be through their WPUNJ student email address
What fees/charges are not covered by the Waiver?
Lab fees, insurance fees, parking fees, housing/dorm fees, orientation fees, admission application fees, acceptance fees,approved tuition waiver application fee, student teaching fee, and distance learning fees are not applicable. Students can view bills on WPConnect. If any of these fees appear, prompt payment can be done at the Office of the Bursar or through the student's WPConnect account.
Do I have to be accepted? Matriculated?
Yes, students must be accepted to the university and accepted into a degree program (matriculated), certification, or endorsement. Non-degree, second degree, visiting, and non-matriculating students are not eligible. Students must have been accepted and attended the fall semester in order to participate in the tuition waiver program for the winter session. Students must have been accepted and attended the fall or spring semester to participate in the tuition waiver program for the summer sessions.Students must also be a New Jersey Resident.
Do I have to be in current good academic standing? What happens if I fail a class?
Yes, students must be in current good academic standing and maintain good academic standing throughout the semester/ academic year. Students must attain passing grades. If the student does not achieve this, tuition waiver will be altered and the student must pay for the failed class.
Do I have to file for Financial Aid?
Yes, undergraduate and graduate students are required to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 30 days before of the semester. FAFSA is to be completed once a year. A FAFSA can be filled out at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Do grants/scholarships affect my tuition waiver?
Students receiving any Grants (Federal and/or State), Scholarships, or any other gift will have the tuition waiver decreased by the amount of those awards. If the student is eligible for State and/or Federal Grants, the student must complete all requested information to attain those Grants.
The Financial Aid Office/State of NJ wants documentation from me. Do I have to respond?
Students who are selected for federal verification or have any outstanding request within the Financial Aid Office or at the State level will be required to complete this process before a Waiver will be honored. Any documentation requested by the financial aid office must be submitted by the registration date. If documentation is not received by the registration date the tuition waiver will not be honored. If the student fails to submit the document requested then the grants will not absorb the tuition cost. Failure to respond to document request for grants or scholarships will reduce waiver amount by the pending award amount. If the student does not meet the eligibility requirements to receive Financial Aid then the student will be ineligible to participate in the tuition waiver program.
Can I use the Waiver for Study Abroad/Student Exchange? Can I be on Work-Study?
No, the use of the Waiver is not permissible.
What happens if I withdrawal or take a leave of absence?
The tuition waiver will only cover courses you are enrolled in. If the student withdrawals or takes a leave of absence, then the waiver amount will be cancelled.
As a tuition waiver student can I apply for a Book deferment?
Yes students can participate in the book deferment program for the Fall or Spring semester if they first do the following:
