Bilingual/Bicultural Endorsement

This program is designed for certified teachers who desire an endorsement to teach in a bilingual-bicultural program.

Entry Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A Standard New Jersey teaching certificate or a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing in a content area
  • An overall undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.00 scale.

Exit Requirements
  • Passing scores on the Language Proficiency Interview Tests in English and the language of instruction are required in order for students to receive their endorsement certification from the State of New Jersey. (The Department of Languages and Cultures offers the tests every spring and fall semester. Please contact the program director or the language coordinator(s) for testing dates and procedures.)
  • Successful completion of curriculum.

*The number of credits and the courses required for the bilingual certification may be subject to change.
