  • "Keep On Keepin' On"

    Keep On Keepin’ On, the award-winning documentary directed by Alan Hicks ‘07, focuses on the special relationship between jazz legend and William Paterson University permanent artist-in-residence Clark Terry and his former student, Justin Kauflin ’08.

    Following the screening, there will be a question and answer session with Hicks and Kauflin. The evening concludes with a one-time reunion performance of the William Paterson ensemble that Terry led featuring Hicks, Kauflin, Stantawn Kendrick  '08, Brian McCarthy '05, Cameron MacManus '06, and Nicholas Morrison '01.

    The film won best new documentary and best new director awards at the 2014 TriBeCa Film Festival, and best documentary at the 2014 Seattle International Film Festival. Renowned film and music producer Quincy Jones, who also counts Terry as his mentor, is one of the film’s producers.

  • Organist Rhoda Scott with the William Paterson Jazz Orchestra

    Newark native and historic organist Rhoda Scott combines with the exciting WP Jazz Orchestra to re-create Rhoda’s historic 1976 collaboration with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, In New York. This legendary recording featured an album’s worth of original arrangements by Thad Jones, many based on Rhoda’s wonderful original compositions. These long-lost arrangements were donated several years ago by Scott to the Thad Jones Archive at William Paterson University, and the high-energy band will be playing from those rarely heard manuscripts. 

    General Admission $15, WP faculty, staff alumni, and senior citizens $12, Non-William Paterson students $8, WP students are admitted free with valid I.D.

    $3 fee added to tickets purchased on show
