New Music Series Features Hypercube on Tuesday, March 5


New music quartet HYPERCUBE, known for its high-energy performances with impressive execution, will perform at William Paterson University on Tuesday, March 5 as part of the New Music Series. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Shea Recital Hall Room 101 on campus; admission is free.

This New York City-based quartet embraces the boundaries of chamber music, featuring cutting-edge works for saxophone, guitar, piano, and percussion, while spanning electric and acoustic worlds. HYPERCUBE is comprised of Erin Rogers, saxophones, Jay Sorce, classical and electric guitar, Andrea Lodge, piano and accordion, and Chris Graham, percussion.

HYPERCUBE has appeared as guest artist at Music on the Edge, Pittsburgh; the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage; the Charlotte New Music Festival, the Garrick Theatre, Newfoundland, LPR Presents, New York, and the 40th International Festival of New Music in Mexico City. In addition to their performance season, HYPERCUBE participates in residencies at universities and conservatories across the U.S. and Canada, and has worked with students at Cincinnati Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, Duke University, Oberlin Conservatory, Wesleyan, and CalArts, among others.

From championing original works to commissioning new works, HYPERCUBE has collaborated with composers to freshly adapt works for the quartet. The quartet’s album, Brain on Fire (New Focus Recordings), was released in 2020.
